A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam emails, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a cloud website hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a lot of features, but it’s very simple to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just a mouse click. All the email addresses that you have created will be enumerated in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the specific address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all option is just as simple and requires one more click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be configured with several clicks if you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes using any domain registered here. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you will need to click on the icon with the exact same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address. Deactivating the feature can be achieved in the exact same fashion and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all option has already been activated for a particular domain name, you will receive a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never change or disable any feature automatically.
